Three weeks after its theatrical debut, the Chief Minister Vijay starrer 'Jana Nayagan' is set for its digital release. Initially launched on July 23 after facing significant censor-related delays, the movie overcame piracy challenges to achieve substantial box office success.
The KVN Productions film collected over Rs 217 crore domestically, with net earnings estimated at Rs 186 crore. The plot revolves around a former convict protecting his late friend's daughter and aiding her ambition to join the Indian Army, while also addressing threats to Indian democracy.
Despite generally positive reviews and an average rating of 3 out of 5 from Tamil critics, the Telugu version received mixed feedback. As its theatrical business wanes, 'Jana Nayagan' is now poised for its OTT premiere on Zee5, with subscribers able to watch the film from August 21.
