- The film 'Jana Nayagan' is set for its OTT release on ZEE5 on August 21.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has provided significant legal relief to the Vijay-starrer 'Jana Nayagan,' closing a case that alleged the film incorrectly depicted Papapatti village. This development occurred shortly before the film's scheduled OTT release.
The legal challenge was initiated by a resident who claimed the village was shown negatively. However, the film's production team clarified that the location in the movie was named 'Papampatti,' not Papapatti, leading the court to close the case.
Judges also commented on a trailer scene involving an MLA, questioning the premise of every MLA seeking removal for such depictions. They acknowledged the difficulty in separating fiction from reality in cinema, ultimately deciding to dismiss the petition.
This legal clearance comes as 'Jana Nayagan' prepares for its digital premiere on ZEE5 on August 21. The film is notable as Vijay's last acting role before he dedicates himself to politics. Directed by H Vinoth, the movie features a star-studded cast including Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
