The Children's Institute in Los Angeles will present the inaugural Michele and Rob Reiner Champion for Change Award to Jamie Lee Curtis at its Cape & Gown Gala on November 8th. This honor recognizes the late Rob and Michele Reiner's lifelong commitment to children and families.
Founded in 1906, the Children's Institute supports over 30,000 children and families across Los Angeles with education, counseling, and enrichment programs. The award ceremony, held at the Beverly Wilshire, will also feature a performance by John Mayer.
Rob and Michele Reiner were dedicated advocates for numerous causes, including early childhood development and civil rights. Their children, Jake and Romy Reiner, expressed that naming the award after their parents honors their legacy of service and unconditional love.
Jamie Lee Curtis, an Oscar and Emmy winner, has a long history of philanthropy and advocacy, including work with Children's Hospitals Los Angeles. She stated she is deeply honored to receive an award that celebrates the Reiners' selfless dedication to making a lasting difference.
