In a recent interview, 18-year-old actress Sophia Hammons praised her "Freakier Friday" co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, for being "game for all of it" on the set of the Disney movie. Hammons, who plays Lily Reyes in the long-awaited sequel to 2003's "Freaky Friday," revealed that Curtis was willing to do almost anything, with one exception.
"That's the one thing about Jamie. She's always like, 'I'm not going to sing,'" Hammons said. "Otherwise, she's game for all of it. She's so collaborative. She is always open to other ideas and working with other people. I mean, it was awesome to get to play off of her."
Hammons recalled a particular blooper scene where she and Curtis "were just shoving doughnuts in each other's mouths." The actress estimates that Curtis consumed around 36 doughnuts that day, but she was still "game for it."
Hammons, who plays the soon-to-be stepdaughter of Curtis' character, Anna Coleman, in the movie, says she "couldn't have asked for a better person to switch with." She praised Curtis' strength and the impact the veteran actress has had on her life, both on and off the set.
"Her existence, on set, but also just in my life, has taught me so much," Hammons said. "Of course, she has given me and Julia [Butters], as the newcomers on set, she's given us advice, but I think watching her work and watching how she treats other people specifically has meant so much to me."
