Now 40, Norton humorously notes that he is no longer asked about Bond in interviews, reflecting a sense of having "aged out" of the iconic part. He expressed that while the opportunity would be an honor, it comes with significant pressures.

The casting process for the forthcoming James Bond film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, commenced in May. The production team is reportedly searching for an actor who embodies significant "sex appeal" and has the longevity to star in at least three subsequent movies. Several younger actors, including Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi, are currently considered favorites for the role.

Norton, currently appearing in the "Game of Thrones" spin-off "House of the Dragon," offered his support to whoever is ultimately chosen for the coveted role, jokingly envisioning himself enjoying a quiet retirement. This comes shortly after fellow contender Callum Turner expressed amusement and a lack of knowledge regarding the ongoing Bond casting speculation.
