Sky has announced a new crime thriller series titled 'Meantime,' based on a novel by Frankie Boyle. The six-part drama will star James McAvoy as Felix McAveety, an individual struggling with addiction who finds himself suspected of murdering his best friend in a Glasgow park.
As Felix grapples with intoxication and paranoia, he embarks on a quest to clear his name. He will be supported by a detective turned crime novelist, portrayed by Josette Simon, and a chaotic friend played by Jamie Michie.
Joining McAvoy in the cast are former Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston and Marvel alum Benedict Wong, though their specific roles are yet to be revealed. Mark Bonnar, Shauna MacDonald, and Shirley Henderson are also set to appear.
The series is directed by Jon S. Baird, with Frankie Boyle and Neil Webster adapting the novel for television. Happy Tramp North and Expectation are producing the drama in association with Sky Studios.
