Jailer 2 North America Screenings Halted Over Missing KDMs

The Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 has experienced a screening disruption in North America. York Cinemas announced it would cease screenings of the film effective October 21, 2026, citing circumstances beyond its control. The cinema stated that it had not received the necessary authorization, specifically valid Key Delivery Messages (KDMs), from the film's North American distributors, Shloka Entertainments and Prathyangira Cinemas.

According to York Cinemas, all financial obligations were met. However, the absence of valid KDMs, which require authorization from production house Sun Pictures, made continued screenings technically impossible. The cinema expressed regret for the inconvenience to patrons, assuring them that efforts were made to resolve the issue. Jailer 2, a Tamil-language action crime drama directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was released worldwide on October 15, 2026.

Further clarification regarding the screening halt is pending from the distributors or production house. The film features Rajinikanth reprising his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, supported by an extensive cast and music by Anirudh Ravichander.
