16 Oct
Summary
- Jailer 2 achieved $1.4 million from North American premiere screenings.
- The film secured the 4th-best premiere collections for Kollywood.
- Its promotional assets were considered below par compared to expectations.
Rajinikanth's latest film, Jailer 2, has achieved a notable success at the North American box office, grossing $1.4 million through its premiere screenings. This figure places the film as the fourth highest-grossing Kollywood premiere in the USA and Canada. While strong on its own, this collection fell slightly below the high expectations set by previous successes, partly due to a less impactful pre-release promotional campaign.
Despite lagging promotional assets, Jailer 2 managed to surpass the premiere earnings of Ponniyin Selvan, which had previously held the fourth spot. The film's director is Nelson Dilipkumar, and it is produced by Sun Pictures. The ensemble cast includes SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, and a host of other notable actors, with special appearances from stars like Mohanlal and Vijay Sethupathi.
