'Don't Target Janhvi,' Urges Jagapathi Babu

Jagapathi Babu has publicly defended co-star Janhvi Kapoor against criticism regarding her portrayal in the film 'Peddi.' Babu urged the public not to single out and target Kapoor, emphasizing that actors are bound by the creative decisions of the director, Buchi Babu Sana. He stated that Janhvi, like other actors, fulfilled the director's vision and should not be held solely responsible for the outcome.

Babu encouraged viewers to direct their feedback towards the film's overall content rather than harassing individual artists. He highlighted that actors often entrust their creative control to the director when signing a project. Despite the controversy surrounding the depiction of Janhvi's character, the film has performed exceptionally well at the box office.

'Peddi,' released on June 4, 2026, has surpassed Rs 248 crore in worldwide earnings. The movie features Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, supported by a cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani. Earlier, director Buchi Babu Sana had offered an apology for any discomfort caused by the character's portrayal and mentioned plans to edit sensitive scenes.
