Beyond the main attractions like Esperanza Spalding, Andra Day, and Sheila E., the festival includes a Jazz Piano Competition on May 21 at the Florida Theatre. A free Jazz Jam is scheduled for Saturday evening at Riverfront Plaza, and the Jacksonville Jazz Society will host a Jazz Clinic on Sunday.
Jazz After Dark, a popular late-night series, also returns with free sets at various downtown venues. Attendees are permitted to bring certain items, including water bottles and food, but coolers over a certain size, outside alcohol, and glass containers are prohibited. Road closures will be in effect around the festival grounds.
