Jack White's Heartfelt Tribute to Bandmate Meg at Rock Hall Induction

Last month, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony, honoring the iconic duo the White Stripes - Jack White and Meg White. However, Meg White was not in attendance, missing the event.

During his speech, Jack White spoke fondly of his former bandmate, sharing that he had spoken with Meg the day before and that she wanted him to convey her gratitude to all those who had supported her over the years. Jack also revealed that Meg had edited his speech, making punctuation corrections, and that he had planned to send her a poem he ended up reading to the audience instead.

The poem Jack shared described a story of two siblings who built a parade float in their garage and paraded it through the streets, receiving a mix of reactions from the people they encountered. Jack's emotional delivery of the poem highlighted the deep connection he and Meg shared as collaborators and friends.

Despite Meg's absence, the ceremony featured tributes to the White Stripes, with Olivia Rodrigo and Feist performing a duet of the band's song "We're Going to Be Friends," and 21 Pilots taking on "Seven Nation Army." Rodrigo, a self-proclaimed White Stripes superfan, also shared how she was inspired by Jack White's guitar playing and made her mother take her to guitar lessons so she could learn his songs.
