Jaaved Jaaferi on Roles Almost Cast: Metro, Munna Bhai

Jaaved Jaaferi recently reflected on several prominent film roles that came close to being his. He recalled being considered for Irrfan Khan's character in Anurag Basu's 'Life in a... Metro'. Jaaferi noted that everything was finalized, including locked dates, but the role eventually went back to Irrfan Khan.

The actor also revealed he was in contention for the pivotal role of Circuit in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Munna Bhai MBBS'. Jaaferi suggested that director Raju Hirani might have perceived him as too 'westernized' for the character, a sentiment he felt he could have challenged more assertively.

Additionally, Jaaferi shared his experience auditioning for an early concept of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Parinda'. This version was envisioned as a smaller film with different casting ideas. Jaaferi ultimately accepts these missed opportunities as fate, stating he remembers them clearly but takes them in stride.
