ISKCON Dwarka is set to host a significant two-day celebration on March 3 and 4, marking both Holi and Gaur Purnima. This event will feature devotional ceremonies and Braj-inspired Holi traditions for a large community gathering.
The festivities commence on March 3 with Gaur Purnima, honoring the appearance day of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. This day includes spiritual discourses, chanting, special offerings, and a Maha Aarti. The celebrations continue on March 4 with vibrant Holi festivities drawn from Braj, including unique rituals like Phoolon Ki Holi (Flower Holi), Lathmar Holi, and Matka Phod.
A central theme of this year's celebration is an eco-friendly and health-conscious approach. Instead of chemical colors, Phoolon Ki Holi will utilize fragrant flower petals. Organizers are also focusing on waste management and using biodegradable materials where possible.
Adding to the culinary delights, the temple will prepare 21 varieties of traditional Braj-style thandai using age-old recipes and seven varieties of gujiya. These will be offered as prasadam after being presented to the deity.
Security and crowd management are being coordinated with Delhi Police, with approximately 2,000 volunteers assisting. The event is expected to attract families and devotees from across the Delhi-NCR region, promising a spiritually enriching and community-focused experience.
