A rare behind-the-scenes video from Irrfan Khan's unreleased directorial project, 'Alvida,' has recently gone viral after being shared by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar. This footage offers fans an intimate look into the late actor's lesser-known directorial endeavors.
Sikdar revealed that Irrfan Khan produced the film, which she wrote as a leprosy story, ultimately reimagining it as a compelling love story. She also noted the humble presence of a then-newcomer Nawazuddin Siddiqui on set, reminiscing about their small but passionate team.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui himself has previously acknowledged the project's importance, stating it was Irrfan's directorial debut and his own first lead role. He suggested Irrfan could have achieved similar success as a filmmaker as he did as an actor.
Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, at the age of 53 due to a colon infection, after battling a neuroendocrine tumor. His final theatrical release was 'Angrezi Medium' in March 2020.
