Summary
- Iron Maiden urges fans to ban phones during Australian tour.
- Concert phone bans aim to enhance fan immersion and atmosphere.
- Other artists like Bob Dylan and Sabrina Carpenter also explore phone-free shows.
Iron Maiden will be touring Australia in November and has requested that fans refrain from using mobile phones during their performances. This initiative follows a successful implementation of a similar policy during their European concerts last year.
Band manager Rod Smallwood stated that the phone ban significantly enhanced the concert atmosphere and fan enjoyment, encouraging attendees to be present in the moment. He emphasized that fans' cooperation made a colossal difference to the shows.
Other prominent artists are also adopting phone-free policies. Bob Dylan has previously implemented bans on phones and video cameras during his tours in the UK and Ireland. Pop star Sabrina Carpenter is also considering a similar move, citing a transformative experience at a Silk Sonic concert where her phone was locked, leading to complete immersion.
