- Film blends witchcraft, grief, and a human foe.

An American writer, Ohm Bauman, travels to a secluded hotel in Ireland, the site of his parents' honeymoon, to finish his book. He encounters a series of disturbing supernatural events and unsettling characters, including the hotel owner, a curious receptionist, and a vagabond living nearby. The hotel is steeped in local folklore, with tales of a witch said to inhabit the surrounding forest and haunt a long-unused honeymoon suite.
As Halloween night approaches, a suicide attempt and a disappearance rattle the hotel, forcing Ohm to confront the mysteries. He experiences nightmarish visions linked to his childhood trauma and his mother's death, suggesting a connection between his personal grief and the hotel's haunting presence. The film combines elements of witchcraft, psychological horror, and a human antagonist, creating an intricate and sometimes convoluted narrative.
Director Damian McCarthy, known for his atmospheric horror, crafts unnerving scenes within the mundane setting of the hotel. Despite the film's disjointed plot threads, it delivers terror-inducing imagery and effective jump scares, relying on atmosphere over gore. Adam Scott's performance as the cynical writer anchors the film, portraying a character far from likeable but compelling in his detachment.
