Jesus' Lost Childhood: Miracles and Mischief Revealed

A long-forgotten book, the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, written nearly 1,900 years ago, has resurfaced, revealing secret stories of Jesus' childhood that were suppressed for centuries. The text begins detailing events when Jesus was just five years old, contrasting with the traditional Bible's first mention at age twelve. It recounts miraculous feats, such as bringing clay birds to life and drawing water from a broken pitcher.

However, this gospel also portrays a darker, more vengeful side of the young Jesus. In one account, he curses a child to death for accidentally striking him, and later blinds the parents of the deceased child. These depictions, along with Jesus' petulant behavior towards his teacher, led early church leaders to reject the Infancy Gospel of Thomas as inauthentic and heretical.

Despite its controversial portrayal, the Infancy Gospel of Thomas also highlights Jesus' compassionate use of his powers, including healing a woodcutter, miraculously filling a broken cloak with water, multiplying grain, and even resurrecting a child. The text's late composition date and association with Gnostic literature further cemented its exclusion from the biblical canon.
