In November 2025, indie streamer Nebula is debuting a new short film, "The Dinner Plan," directed by Patrick Willems. The 33-minute comedy-thriller stars Griffin Newman as a man who suffers from a rare food allergy and is pressured into attending a dinner party hosted by his boss.
The film follows the protagonist's desperate attempts to avoid vomiting in front of his boss and other guests, who seem to have a penchant for serving his allergen-triggering food. Joining Newman in the cast are John Hodgman, Miriam Shor, Zach Cherry, Eudora Peterson, Geoffrey Cantor, and Cindy Cheung.
"The Dinner Plan" is written by Michael Curran and Jacob Torpey, based on a story by director Patrick Willems. The film marks a milestone for Nebula, the creator-owned subscription streaming platform that launched in 2019 and is expanding beyond its "edutainment" programming into scripted content.
