The Maryanne Pop-Up, named after a song by Anjan Dutt, recently turned a private residence into a lively hub for independent brands on March 14 and 15. Curator Neel Dutt expressed his pleasant surprise at the large number of visitors who came to support young entrepreneurs and their creative endeavors. This debut edition significantly contributed to the visibility of these emerging businesses.
The event notably showcased a growing movement towards conscious living. Dutt observed a clear interest in sustainability and a desire among attendees to minimize plastic use and embrace eco-friendly products daily. While acknowledging this is an ongoing journey, the pop-up served as a platform for this important shift.
Organized within a month, the pop-up featured a curated selection of both new and established independent brands. For Dutt, the goal extended beyond commerce; he aimed to foster connections, facilitate learning, and encourage collaboration. Swastika Mukherjee, participating with her brand The Leaf Story, shared that the event felt "deeply human," appreciating the chance to connect with like-minded individuals who value sustainability and conscious living.
