Indie Horror 'Self-Help' Acquired by Cineverse for North America

In an exclusive deal, Cineverse and its horror division Bloody Disgusting have acquired the North American VOD and streaming rights to the latest feature from fraternal filmmaking duo Erik and Carson Bloomquist and their production outfit Mainframe Pictures. The movie, titled 'Self-Help', is set for a nationwide theatrical rollout by Mainframe on Halloween, with "Mischief Night Sneak Previews" on October 30, followed by Cineverse's digital release in early 2026.

The film stars Landry Bender (Looking for Alaska, The Sitter) as college student Olivia, who infiltrates a dangerous self-actualization community after her mother becomes entangled with its enigmatic "anti-cult" leader, played by Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead, Medium). Directed by Emmy Award winner Erik Bloomquist and co-written with brother Carson, the horror thriller also features Madison Lintz (Bosch, The Walking Dead) and Amy Hargreaves (Homeland, Blue Ruin).

"The tireless team of genre fanatics at Cineverse have built a thrilling ecosystem, and we're eager to contribute to their uncompromising filmography," said the Bloomquist brothers. Cineverse expressed their delight in bringing the film to audiences across North America, stating that "Self-Help represents everything we love about horror: fearless storytelling, visceral gore, and disturbing imagery that stays with you long after the credits roll."
