In October 2025, an indie feature film titled 'What Now' is set to begin production in the Los Angeles area. The female buddy comedy has assembled an impressive cast, including Eliza Coupe of 'Happy Endings', Rhys Darby from 'Our Flag Means Death' and 'Flight of the Conchords', and Beth Grant of 'The Mindy Project'.
The film is inspired by the real-life friendship of Health-Ade Kombucha founder Daina Trout and internet personality Sharzad Kiadeh, both of whom are starring in and executive producing the project. 'What Now' centers on a burned-out protein bar CEO and a canceled TV host who collide at a desert wellness retreat, forming an unlikely bond as they rediscover their purpose and resilience.
The comedy is directed by Daniella Eisman, known for her work on 'The Sex Lives of College Girls' and 'Superstore', with a script written by Peter Hoare, the scribe behind 'Standing Up, Falling Down'. The film is produced by Guy Chachkes of Reelarc, with Kailey Marsh of Five Line executive producing and Mia Cusumano handling the casting.
