Indy's Likeness Comes to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Harrison Ford will serve as the model for Indiana Jones in a new attraction opening at Disney's Animal Kingdom, located in Orlando, Florida. This marks the first time Ford's actual likeness will be used in a Disney theme park attraction. Previously, attractions like Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye did not feature his likeness.
The new attraction, titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, is a key part of the upcoming Tropical Americas section at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It will occupy the space formerly used by the Dinosaur attraction, utilizing the same ride vehicles and track layout as Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure.
The attraction's original story is set in the 1950s, preceding "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Guests will join Indiana Jones on a quest for a mysterious artifact in South America, leading them into an underworld guarded by a serpent.
Other planned attractions in the Tropical Americas section include Antonio's Fiestda de Encanto, an "Encanto"-themed dark ride, and a carousel with Disney animal characters. A timeline for the opening of the Tropical Americas section has not yet been announced.
