The iconic British teen comedy series "The Inbetweeners" is making a comeback with a new reunion movie currently in development at Netflix. Original stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison, and James Buckley are reportedly attached to reprise their roles, though final deals are still being negotiated. This news follows an announcement last year by rights holders Banijay U.K. regarding a deal with creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.
Originally broadcast on E4 from 2008 to 2010, "The Inbetweeners" chronicled the adolescent struggles of four friends at Rudge Park Comprehensive. The series gained a cult following for its realistic portrayal of awkward teenage years, contrasting with other contemporary teen dramas. Its success led to two popular films in 2011 and 2014, both of which broke box office records in the U.K. Creators Morris and Beesley expressed excitement about bringing the characters back in 2025.
