25 Mar
Summary
- Imran Khan dislikes playing violent, aggressive characters.
- He feels current cinema overrepresents angry male protagonists.
- His comeback film focuses on empathy and responsibility.

Imran Khan has revealed his deliberate choice to avoid roles depicting aggression and violence, stating he has "no interest in playing a hairy angry man covered in blood." He observed that such characters are already "generously represented" in contemporary cinema. Khan finds the trend of validating violence in films "disturbing," preferring to align with narratives that promote empathy and responsibility.
His comeback film, "Adhure Hum Adhure Tum," co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, is currently in post-production and slated for release on a streaming platform later in 2026. The movie aims to highlight themes that Khan believes are "under-represented" in mainstream storytelling.
Khan, who last appeared on screen in 2015, has largely stayed out of the public eye. He humorously referred to himself as the actor who "ghosted everyone" since his last film. His early success was notably marked by "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na," a film that continues to shape his public image. He distinguished between portraying violence and validating it, emphasizing his aversion to stories that endorse aggression, which does not align with his personal sensibilities.
