Apple TV+ has renewed "Imperfect Women" for a second season, with Kerry Washington returning as Eleanor. This upcoming season will pivot from its source novel to explore an original storyline centered on Eleanor's return to Martha's Vineyard, her hometown. The affluent black enclave is presented as a seemingly idyllic setting, but it harbors hidden secrets and scandals.
Washington is not only reprising her starring role but also executive producing the series through her Simpson Street banner. Annie Weisman, who co-showran the first season, will return in the same capacity alongside newcomer Justin Hillian. Hillian brings experience from "The Chi" and "Snowfall."
Both Washington and Apple TV+ programming head Matt Cherniss expressed excitement for the new chapter. Washington highlighted Eleanor's intelligence and strength in navigating complicated situations, while Cherniss praised the performances in Season 1 and the appeal of expanding Eleanor's story.
