Ilaiyaraaja Nears Completion of Second Symphony

Music maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja has announced that the writing of his second symphony is nearly complete. This significant development comes five years after he moved into his new studio, marking February 03, 2026, as the five-year anniversary of this relocation.
Ilaiyaraaja achieved a historic first for India by presenting his western classical symphony, titled 'Valiant,' at London's Eventim Apollo theatre on March 8, 2025. The performance was notably accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Following the success of 'Valiant,' Ilaiyaraaja has expressed his intention to tour the symphony globally. He has already secured performance dates in 13 countries, aiming to share this pinnacle of musical achievement with his fans worldwide.
He had previously shared his intention to begin composing his next symphony after observing his mother's death anniversary and also planned a new piece titled 'Symphonic Dancers.' Ilaiyaraaja recently performed in Dubai, expressing gratitude for the audience's warm reception.
