The film, which is based on the life and sacrifice of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, garnered positive reviews and favorable word-of-mouth. The title, 'Ikkis,' refers to Khetarpal's age of 21 when he fell during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Agastya Nanda portrays the young officer, and the cast includes Dharmendra as his father.
Despite its compelling narrative and strong critical reception, Ikkis faces considerable competition at the box office, notably from Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, which continues to perform well in its fourth week. The film is currently being screened in over 2,000 shows nationwide, with key regional performances noted in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.
