The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) will be the venue for the fifth Akshar - An IIT Kanpur Literary Festival, scheduled to take place from October 29 to 31. This cultural extravaganza is dedicated to celebrating the depth and diversity of Indian literature, music, theatre, dance, and folk art.
Organized by the Shivani Centre for the Nurture and Re-Integration of Hindi and Other Indian Languages and the Rajbhasha Prakoshth, the festival's core mission is to foster Indian languages and encourage artistic creation. Since its inception in 2022, Akshar has provided a platform for more than 400 artists across its four previous editions.
The upcoming three-day program is packed with literary discussions, open-mic sessions, and captivating performances. Events on October 29 and 30 are scheduled at the Outreach Auditorium from 3 pm to 9 pm. The festival will conclude on October 31 at the Open Air Theatre, starting from 3:30 pm.
