IFFR CineMart Showcases Emerging Cinema

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has unveiled its 43rd edition of CineMart, a co-production market featuring 21 diverse feature film projects. This year's selection showcases a compelling array of stories, including narratives that address war, displacement, climate change, and the struggle for identity in challenging times. These projects represent significant cinematic creativity across genres like sci-fi, horror, and musicals.

The lineup includes films from various international filmmakers. Notable selections feature debut directors Andrea Ellsworth and Kasey Elise Walker with their comedy "The Dispute," acquired by Felix Culpa and Gilga. Canadian filmmaker Luis De Filippis and Japanese director Toshihiko Tanaka are also among the selected artists. Diverse Asian cinema is represented by Lê Bảo, Kang Bo, and Whammy Alcazaren, alongside Spanish director Lois Patiño and Indian director Ridham Janve.

IFFR's Darkroom platform will also present 10 recently completed films seeking gap or completion funding. New for 2026 is the CineMart x HBF lineup, featuring six projects that have received prior support from IFFR's Hubert Bals Fund. This expanded program underscores IFFR's commitment to nurturing global filmmaking talent and fostering new cinematic voices.
