As of November 16th, 2025, the iconic Melbourne nightclub Revolver Upstairs, affectionately known as "Revs," is up for sale. The heritage-listed Prahran building on Chapel Street, where the club is situated, was put on the market in October and is expected to fetch eight figures.
The venue went to auction on Friday and received offers ranging from $12 million to a final bid of $15 million, before being passed in for negotiations. Originally built in 1997, Revs has cemented its status as a beloved institution in the Melbourne nightlife scene, hosting performances by renowned artists like The Avalanches, Aloe Blacc, and Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell.
The club has also welcomed high-profile guests such as former couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, and was the site of Snoop Dogg's sunglasses range launch in 2008. However, the sale has Revs diehards concerned that the new owners may not intend to keep the 24-hour drinking hole running.
The Prahran building that houses Revs is just one of 30 beloved tenancies, with the likes of Colonel Tan's Thai restaurant also occupying the space. Additionally, the property boasts a spacious loft above the nightclub with 9-meter-high ceilings and a spectacular view, which has been the home of Revs' co-founder Tan Punturaumporn for the past few years.
