Web Series 'Ichchepuran' Explores Desire's Price

The upcoming Bengali web series "Ichchepuran," set to premiere this Poila Boishakh, delves into the intricate relationships between desire, destiny, and moral choices. Directed by Haranath Chakraborty, the narrative is conceptualized and written by Iman Chakraborty, who was inspired by the human tendency to constantly seek more, often compromising values.

The story follows Apurba, portrayed by Debraj Bhattacharya, a dedicated insurance agent whose ordinary life takes an extraordinary turn when he discovers a mysterious stone. This object appears to grant prosperity, but it soon reveals a sinister side, forcing Apurba into a profound moral quandary. His wife, Aparna, played by Ishani Sengupta, experiences the emotional impact of his transformation and their shifting reality.

With a screenplay by Padmanabha Dasgupta, "Ichchepuran" features a cast including Korak Samanta and Shankar Debnath. Director Chakraborty emphasizes the series as an exploration of an ordinary man facing extraordinary circumstances, where each decision carries significant weight. The blend of drama, emotion, and supernatural elements aims to offer an introspective viewing experience.
