The acclaimed film "Sirāt" opens with a captivating rave sequence that immerses viewers in a pulsing, hypnotic soundscape. This immersive experience is the creation of French musician Kangding Ray, whose album "Solens Arc" caught the attention of director Oliver Laxe.

Laxe worked closely with Kangding Ray to craft a score that would seamlessly blend image and sound, with the composer drawing on the raw, uncompromising tone of his previous work. The result is a score that serves as another character in the film, carrying the emotional weight of the narrative as a father and son venture into the Moroccan desert to find the son's missing daughter.

As the story progresses, the score undergoes a "slow disintegration" towards a more ethereal, ambient, and spiritual tone, reflecting the characters' emotional journey. The sound design team, led by supervising sound editor and designer Laia Casanovas, also played a crucial role in enhancing the cinematic experience, blending realism and expressiveness to create a sensation of being present on the dance floor.

The film's title, drawn from an Arabic word meaning "path" or "way," frames an allegorical journey of self-discovery and transformation, with the music and sound design deepening the themes of life, death, and survival.
