The world of Middle-earth is expanding with a new film, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, set to release on December 17, 2027.
This action epic will feature familiar faces, with Andy Serkis returning to reprise his iconic role as Gollum, a character he states has "never really left me." Serkis will also be taking on directing duties for the film, marking a return to his deep connection with the beloved franchise.
The narrative is strategically placed between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies.
