Hrithik Roshan's Unfulfilled Bhansali Dream
19 Nov
Summary
- Hrithik Roshan chose Mohenjo Daro over Bajirao Mastani.
- He declined Bajirao Mastani due to prior commitment.
- Guzaarish's 15th anniversary highlights a missed collaboration.

Fifteen years after its release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Guzaarish,' starring Hrithik Roshan, continues to be a notable collaboration. Following their work together, both director and actor expressed a desire to reunite. However, Hrithik Roshan ultimately could not commit to Bhansali's ambitious project 'Bajirao Mastani.'
Roshan had already agreed to star in Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama 'Mohenjo Daro.' Committing to two back-to-back historical epics would have been too demanding. He also opted out of Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi' for the same reason, highlighting the significant time commitment required for these grand productions.
While 'Mohenjo Daro' did not meet expectations and 'Bajirao Mastani' became a cinematic landmark, Roshan's decision meant passing on a chance to work with Bhansali again. The actor's wish to collaborate with the director on a future project, following their successful 'Guzaarish,' has yet to be realized.
