The recent episodes of House of the Dragon have plunged Westeros into deeper conflict, marked by significant character deaths. Actress Olivia Cooke, who portrays Alicent, has shed light on her character's reaction to a shocking discovery: her father, Otto Hightower, found deceased and decapitated beside the Iron Throne.
This devastating event, linked to Rhaenyra's actions, shatters the uneasy truce previously sought by both women. Alicent is left grappling with the loss and the circumstances of her father's demise, uncertain of his imprisonment and execution.
Following a tumultuous start to Season 3, including a kiss with Aemond, Alicent's discovery of Otto's body signals a definitive end to any reconciliation with Rhaenyra. The implication is that Alicent may now be a captive of Rhaenyra's faction, complicating the ongoing war.
