Summary
- Evil Dead's Jane Levy and Happy Death Day's Jessica Rothe star
- Prey's Dane DiLiegro also joins the cast
- Siblings face deadly threat after their boat breaks down

In November 2025, a new horror movie titled 'River' is set to hit theaters as a Shudder Original. The film brings together a star-studded cast from some of the genre's most beloved franchises.
Leading the cast are Jane Levy, known for her role in Evil Dead, and Jessica Rothe, who starred in the Happy Death Day films. They are joined by Dane DiLiegro, who recently appeared in the Predator movie Prey. The main cast is rounded out by Max Mattern, who recently portrayed a victim in the true crime drama Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.
The film follows a trio of estranged siblings who come together following their father's death with the goal of spreading his ashes around a remote river area that he loved. However, their mournful voyage takes a horrific turn when their boat breaks down miles from anyone who can help them, and without working communication. That's when they realize they are being hunted by a terrifying threat that emerges from the nearby woods.
The logline suggests the threat may be "almost mythic" in nature, hinting at something more than just a feral human stalking the siblings. Writer and director Josh Guiliano, who has worked on award-winning horror shorts, has been developing this project for the past six years, collaborating with veteran genre producers to bring it to life.
Fans of these talented actors and the horror genre as a whole can look forward to the release of 'River' in the coming months, as the siblings must set aside their differences to survive the nightmare that awaits them.
