Hong Kong cinema is embracing immersive technology with the debut of "Harbour Dreams: Hong Kong XR Adventure." This pioneering 20-minute experience is touted as the city's first 6D multi-sensory film, integrating virtual reality, augmented reality, motion, and scent. The production aims to fully immerse audiences in the atmosphere of Hong Kong's renowned landmarks. Virtual visitors will journey through sites such as Victoria Harbour, the Peak Tram, and the Avenue of Stars. The experience features a virtual host, Louis Cheung, and a custom mascot, Anan the Panda, offering interactive elements that connect viewers with the city's heritage. A virtual concert by Supper Moment within Kai Tak Sports Park is also included, alongside game-based interactions. This venture marks a significant evolution for director Kwok-man Keung, who established Infinity Zone Technology in 2023 to focus on VR, AR, MR, and AI in storytelling, particularly for cultural tourism. Keung has a rich background, beginning his film career in 1984 and working on numerous productions, including notable collaborations with directors like Tsui Hark.
