Honey Singh's Questioning: Cyber Cell Refuses Postponement
16 Oct
Summary
- Cyber Cell denied Honey Singh's request to postpone questioning.
- A Look Out Circular may be issued if he misses summons again.
- Complaint concerns alleged objectionable remarks at a concert.
Yo Yo Honey Singh has been denied his request to postpone questioning by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell concerning a case of alleged objectionable remarks. He was summoned on October 16 but had asked to appear on October 22, stating he was abroad.
Officials from the Maharashtra Cyber Cell refused his request for an extension. A senior officer warned that if the singer fails to appear again, authorities might initiate steps to issue a Look Out Circular against him.
This development follows Honey Singh's prior missed questioning on October 5, for which he had also sought additional time. Reports suggest he has missed summons on three prior occasions.
The current investigation stems from a complaint filed by an individual who took offense to comments allegedly made by the rapper during a concert. The matter remains under investigation.
This is not the first time Honey Singh has faced legal challenges. Earlier in 2026, the Delhi High Court ordered him to file an affidavit after a petition claimed he performed an objectionable song, 'Volume 1', in 2025. The court later ordered the removal of the song's URLs from online platforms, deeming it obscene and derogatory.
