Stars can now reportedly command fees as high as $25 million for a few days of work in a recording booth, a stark contrast to their earlier compensation for animated films. For instance, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reportedly earned this sum for "Toy Story 5," a significant increase from their initial roles in the 1995 original.

This trend was significantly influenced by Robin Williams's revolutionary performance as the Genie in Disney's 1992 "Aladdin." Although he was paid a modest $75,000, his unique vocal performance demonstrated that a star's live-action persona could be effectively translated into animation, leading to a generational shift where animated films achieved blockbuster success.

Historically, studios like Disney preferred voice actors to remain anonymous, fearing audience recognition would undermine the characters' illusion of reality.
