The Hollywood Reporter, in partnership with the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, is hosting its first-ever Sustainability in Entertainment Honors on April 23rd. This invitation-only event at the Bel-Air Hotel will recognize three prominent television series for their dedication to showcasing sustainability issues and implementing eco-friendly production methods.
"Grey's Anatomy" will receive the Legacy of Sustainable Storytelling award, while Hulu's "Paradise" is honored with the Achievement in Sustainable Storytelling award. The Duffer Brothers' new Netflix series, "The Boroughs," will accept the Achievement in Sustainable Production award.
Additional programming includes an appearance by former Vice President Al Gore, who will mark the 20th anniversary of "An Inconvenient Truth" and participate in a discussion about the global state of sustainability. The event will also feature a panel with leading Hollywood executives and creatives focused on sustainability efforts.
This honors event is a significant part of THR's expanding collaboration with the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, which began at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. At that festival, Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" and Clint Bentley's "Train Dreams" received accolades for their sustainable contributions.
