Hiddleston & Atwell Bring 'Much Ado' to Broadway

Jamie Lloyd's acclaimed West End production of William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" is slated for a 10-week limited engagement on Broadway this fall. The production will star Tom Hiddleston as Benedick and Hayley Atwell as Beatrice.

This transfer follows the success of Lloyd's staging at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which garnered strong reviews and box office performance. Hiddleston, known for his role as Loki, has a previous Broadway collaboration with Lloyd in "Betrayal." Atwell, making her Broadway debut, has received multiple Olivier Award nominations for her stage work.

Both Hiddleston and Atwell also have significant experience in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Loki and Peggy Carter, respectively. Director Jamie Lloyd expressed excitement about bringing the actors' chemistry and the production's joyous performances to New York audiences.

Hiddleston described his role as Benedick as a long-held ambition, calling the experience "one of the most fulfilling" of his performing life. Atwell echoed the sentiment, calling it an "honor" to make her Broadway debut in Lloyd's "electric" and "modern celebration of universal themes."
