7 Oct
Summary
- HGTV 'Go Big or Go Home' guest contractor died.
- Death occurred while hiking California's Mt. Whitney.
- Cause of death is currently undetermined by authorities.
A contractor who appeared on the HGTV program "Go Big or Go Home" has died while attempting to scale Mount Whitney, a challenging peak in Sequoia National Park. Kalem Peter Kazarian was identified as the individual who passed away earlier this week.
The Tulare County Coroner's Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Kazarian's death, with no official cause having been released as of the current date. Kazarian was known to be an avid climber, previously sharing a photograph of himself at the summit of White Mountain, another significant peak.
Hiking Mount Whitney requires permits, and the treacherous climb has unfortunately led to fatalities in the past. Despite the risks, this period is considered optimal for ascending the 14,505-foot mountain. Kazarian had been featured on a single episode of the HGTV show in 2019 and worked as a contractor based in Fresno.
