Hey Dad..! Star Sarah Monahan Buys Sydney Nightspot

Sarah Monahan, famously known for her role as Jenny in the 1980s Australian TV hit 'Hey Dad..!', has embarked on a new professional chapter as the owner of a popular nightspot in Sydney. Now 49, Monahan took possession of the establishment, Honey Rider, located in Neutral Bay on Sydney's north shore, on April 12. This acquisition marks a significant personal milestone, with Monahan expressing that she has 'found her happy place again' following past difficulties.

Monahan, who resided in the United States for two decades before returning to Australia in 2022, was encouraged by her husband, Matt Morris, to purchase the bar. She has ambitions for Honey Rider, which has been a local fixture for 15 years, including the installation of studio space intended for 'creatives' to produce podcasts and videos.

Her past acting career on 'Hey Dad..!' was overshadowed by harrowing abuse allegations against her co-star, Robert Hughes. Monahan was one of ten individuals who accused Hughes of child molestation. Hughes was later sentenced in 2014 to six years in prison for multiple child sex offenses. Monahan's 2010 television interview was instrumental in sparking a police investigation into the actor's alleged misconduct.
