A significant sculpture by Henry Moore, titled 'Reclining Woman: Elbow', has arrived at Kew Gardens, its new temporary home. This 7ft 3in bronze figure was a fixture outside Leeds Art Gallery for over four decades before being loaned for the upcoming exhibition.
The 'Henry Moore: Monumental Nature' exhibition will feature more than 100 of Moore's works displayed throughout the gardens. This collection promises to be the largest outdoor exhibition of his art ever presented, aiming to merge sculpture with the surrounding natural environment.
The exhibition, celebrating the influence of nature on Moore's imagination, opens on Saturday and will continue until January 2027. An additional indoor display at the Shirley Sherwood Gallery will include drawings, models, and sketchbooks, offering a comprehensive look at the celebrated British sculptor's oeuvre.
