Helen Skelton has directly responded to speculation about a romantic relationship with her BBC Morning Live co-host, Gethin Jones. Skelton, 42, firmly stated in a recent interview that she and Jones, 48, are purely 'work friends.' The rumours intensified after reports surfaced of them enjoying dates at a luxury spa last year and following their appearances together at events like the Pride of Britain awards and a Royal Television Society bash.

Dispelling any notion of a budding romance, Skelton told The Mirror, 'No. Well, he's in Manchester working away, so yeah, no, all good.' She reiterated that their connection is professional, stating, 'We just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends.' This clarification comes after months of gossip, which was further stoked by sightings like one at a spa near Jones's home in Cheshire.

Skelton, who separated from her ex-husband Richie Myler in 2022, noted that their on-screen chemistry on Morning Live, which they have anchored full-time since January 2024, might have contributed to the speculation. She previously told Prima Magazine in December that their close friendship can sometimes make filming a bit 'tricky' as they 'forget' they are on air.
