Genndy Tartakovsky's animated action comedy, "Heist Brothers," has received a full series greenlight from Adult Swim. The project, initially revealed as "Heist Safari" at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, is now in production.
Described by Adult Swim head Michael Ouweleen as potentially the most "bonkers" project currently in development, "Heist Brothers" aims to blend the classic visual humor of Tex Avery with the energetic style of Guy Ritchie films. This unique combination will be underscored by an original, custom-made EDM soundtrack.
The series follows three frog brothers as they attempt to rob a bank. Their target is a bank vault manager, depicted as a mouse, who is trying to reach a security button. Early animatics shown last year at Annecy showcased a rapid-fire visual comedy sequence, complemented by aggressive EDM music.
The announcement was made during an Adult Swim Studio Focus presentation at the 2026 Annecy Animation Festival. This event also featured updates on other Adult Swim projects, including "Common Side Effects," "My Two Cars," "Rick and Morty," and the upcoming spin-off "President Curtis."
