Jacob Tierney, the creative force behind the romantic drama "Heated Rivalry," is actively engaged in writing Season 2, with production slated to begin in the summer. Despite a demanding schedule since the show's premiere on HBO Max, Tierney is focused on capturing the essence of Rachel Reid's novel for the upcoming season.
Tierney emphasized his commitment to remaining "faithful" to the source material, aiming to produce an intelligent adaptation. "Heated Rivalry" follows the romance between two professional hockey players.
Filming for Season 2 is on track, according to Tierney. The series, initially developed for Crave in Canada, gained wider exposure on HBO Max shortly after its Thanksgiving premiere. The renewal announcement came just two weeks post-launch.
At the GLAAD Media Awards, Tierney also touched upon his new Netflix project, "Alexander," a drama series about Alexander the Great, which he will write, direct, and executive produce. Miley Cyrus and Carly Rae Jepsen have indicated interest in contributing music to "Heated Rivalry's" second season.
