Masters of Universe: Key Characters Cut for Story

Filmmaker Travis Knight has revealed that some beloved characters from the Masters of the Universe franchise will not appear in the upcoming movie. Knight explained that creative decisions led to the exclusion of certain fan favorites to maintain the integrity of the story being told. He acknowledged that these choices were difficult, given his own appreciation for the franchise's extensive history.

The director emphasized that movies have a limited runtime, and the focus for this adaptation is primarily on Prince Adam's journey. Therefore, characters and plot elements that did not directly serve this core narrative were omitted to prevent distractions and ensure a cohesive two-and-a-half-hour experience. Knight noted that the film aims to honor the franchise's 40-year legacy by incorporating characters from various iterations, including comic strips and the 1987 live-action movie.
