HBO's "Task 2" has added notable actors Tim Blake Nelson and Jharrel Jerome to its ensemble. Nelson, known for his role in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?", will portray Denny Coughlin, a veteran detective operating outside the lines. Jerome, recognized for "I'm a Virgo", is cast as Jordan Barnes, the son of Eddie Barnes.
The series, created and showrun by Brad Ingelsby, is set in the working-class suburbs surrounding Philadelphia. It centers on an FBI agent who spearheads a Task Force aimed at dismantling a criminal operation involving drug-house robberies orchestrated by an unlikely family man.
Mark Ruffalo is returning to reprise his role from the first season, which originally aired in 2025. The cast also includes Mahershala Ali, Julianne Nicholson, Harry Melling, Adam Nagaitis, Aminah Nieves, Edgar Ramirez, Martha Plimpton, Silvia Dionicio, Brian F. O'Byrne, Bethlehem Million, Kevin Dunn, and Andrew Russel.
