HBO's Lanterns: Deeper Corps Cameos Scrapped

The HBO drama "Lanterns" almost included a wider array of the Green Lantern Corps, but the creative team decided against it. Initially, writers considered showing various colored Lantern Corps members during a critical moment in Rushville, where darkness was encroaching. This scene was envisioned as the sole opportunity to showcase these other ring-wielders.

Ultimately, the decision was made to omit these additional Lanterns. Showrunner Chris Mundy explained that the focus needed to remain squarely on the main characters, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. While iconic figures like Sinestro and Guy Gardner were featured, other Lanterns and locations, such as Ch'p and Mogo, were only referenced by name to maintain narrative cohesion.
